New Year's Cleaning

In the anticlimactic hush that is January, cleaning up after the madness of December seems a most fitting thing to do, and in so doing my desktop underwent an extreme clutter purge. Though I spent more time deciding on the background photo that would be the backdrop of my organizational binge (I settled on this one from my trip to Phoenix)

than on the doing of it, once accomplished, I had tossed the trash and collected together some items to share.

This is the finished product of a collage I crafted which was ultimately included in the art work of the Chapter 01 release of Celldweller's current project Wish Upon A Black Star (amaaaazing) which you should check out at celldweller.com

The work was inspired by the song Louder Than Words. It consists of old journal entries which I tea stained, ripped up, glued down and burned. The idea is that the act of burning the pages speaks louder than the words on the pages themselves, burning up the remnants of the self I was not proud to be. Included below are some pics of other places I took this idea.  I ended up burning it to the extreme. They're great images to rest eyes on while reflecting on any parts of you you'd like to leave in 2009, just burn them away.

Bag it, barter it, or better it.

Do you enjoy holding a plastic rectangle against the side of your head extended lengths of time? I sure don't. Until I breakdown and get a hands-free device, I enhance my phone-time by sketching. Here's what spilled out of my mind/pencil yesterday (don't ask me what it is).

Martha Beck's wisdom dictates that if a particular activity makes you tense:
bag it - just quit doing it
barter it - get someone else to do it, or

better it

Thx Martha!

This is a painting I finished recently for the incredible delectable band E.G.G. and their song Fall of Man. Check them out and hear the song at www.myspace.com/therealegg

Welcome to the Rumble

A rut is no place to live a life from. I had enough of waiting for the muse to inspire an art work to shatter worlds and decided to shake myself up and do something creative every day. Doodles count. Artful arrangement of my pillows counts. On great days I do paintings or record ideas for songs. On good days I type out a few lines of would-be lyrics, rhymes or words I like. Hey, if work we do isn't blog worthy at least it keeps us moving forward. Here I'll post the art of mine I'm most proud of, or just what I think you all might get a kick out of. Enjoy! Visit often!
